02 Oct Design Addict

blog_gal_5For as long as I can remember I was always creative. I always had a love for movement, sounds, smells, shapes and colors inspired me. I felt excited by fashion and spaces, landscapes and how these things evoked emotions.

I didn’t always know that this passion would lead me to an interior design career. I wasn’t sure how my passion and love of objects would be fueled. Design is better than any drug, and I’m totally addicted.

One of the great pleasures of designing a space is the expression of a personality, bringing out parts of someone that they didn’t even know existed or didn’t know how to share. As a designer I get to play a significant role in helping to facilitate an interface between ones background, memories, imagination and surroundings, fashion, art and culture. This is important to draw from in order to create a special space that tells a story for a client, only the words have been replaced with elements of design. Of course a client must be able to relate to a space but pushing boundaries is what makes for exciting design. Good design can change the world, because when reality and comfort meet, it is intoxicating.

Our blog is created for you…the you that is looking for inspiration for your upcoming design project, the you, that wants to find out something newsy in the design world, the you that believes that design is powerful.

At Dawn Chapnick Designs we believe in eating cake for breakfast, that a pop of color has the power to punctuate, that challenges are opportunities, in never being satisfied because something can always be done to make it better, and that by taking care of the luxuries, the necessities will take care of themselves.

I invite you to take a glimpse into our world where we transform residential and commercial properties into luxurious places that are welcoming and livable.
